Developed in partnership with dmh associates and Learn by Design, these engaging tools and templates have been designed to support schools to engage parents in career-related learning.

Career Chat Game

This origami inspired take home activity will spark meaningful conversations between children and their parents and carers to explore their strengths and future ambitions. Fun and engaging, the worksheet includes instruction for turning the 2D template into a 3D paper 'fortune teller' inspired game.

Career Conversations Cards

This take home activity features 10 thought provoking question cards for children to cut out. They then take it in turns to answer the questions with their family members to spark meaningful conversations linked to their future hopes, dreams and aspirations.

Spot the Jobs - Take Home Worksheet

This activity sheet is for children to use when on shool trips and visits to help them spot all the different jobs they see people doing. Their follow up task is to draw some of the people that they saw doing different jobs and include details such as what that person does, where they are working and why they think this job would be fun. Two versions are available; a 1-page portrait or a 2-page lansdcape version.

This take home activity sheet challenges children to work with their parents and carers to name a job within each of the sectors that employ many people in the North East. The worksheet includes a link and QR code to the National Careers Service website to help fill in any blanks and to further explore these jobs and sectors.

Research a Career

This family homework project challenges children to work with their parents and carers to research a career that inspires them and that they in the future would like to do. The resource includes an editable letter to parents explaining the project and includes links and QR codes to aid and support them with the task.

This is a take home activity sheet features a jobs inspired wordsearch and an editable letter to parents on the importance of career related learning and ways they can get involved. This 2 -page resource has been designed to be printed back-to-back.

My Future

This 2 -page resource has been designed to be printed back-to-back. Beginning with an activity in the classroom, children draw a picture of themselves doing a job they would like to do when they are older. This is done on the 'My Future' side of the of the resource. Children then take this home for their parents and carers. Side 2 of the resouce features an editable letter to parents on the importance of career related learning and ways they can get involved.
